"In all the years I've been a State Farm customer, I've only talked to Mr. Miyauchi one time. I really feel like they don't care about their customers. * Especially now that Mr. Miyauchi has texted me five or six times asking for a review - NOW he cares that I exist!"

"Having State Farm Insurance has been amazing for so many years ! However, i wouldn't recommend just any State Farm Insurance office....you HAVE to choose Garrett Miyauchi! It's ALL about your agent! "I would recommend an insurance broker over a dedicated agent representing one company. Agents are very limited in their abilities. This is not necessarily reflected poorly on the agent, their hands are tied to some extent and it corners the policy holder. Agents represent their company, therefore subject to the procedures their company dictates. As a policy holder, having an agent may give a false sense of having a person to protect your assets and your best interest. However, the security lies in the policy as it is written, alone. Shop around, get the best policy you can, afford yourself the savings up front if you can find a better value for cost with a different company, and understand that any claims are determined and decided by the company you choose. The agent themselves who sell you the policies do not give •any• added security in your protections, or coverage. It’s every policy holder for themselves. Choose your company wisely. State Farm may, or may not, be the most cost effective. Having a second claim on our homeowners due to no fault of our own, we were informed that after more than 30 years with this company that crosses multiple policies (home, life, auto, campers, etc. i.e. thousands worth) IF we filed the second claim in less than 5 years time our policy would be cancelled (non-renewed). We were stuck paying the catastrophe, or face cancellation. If you are cancelled other insurance companies will consider you high risk, coverage will be hard to get elsewhere, and you are forced to choose from these two “options” in times of need. Essentially, we might as well have paid another company a lower premium to save the thousands we’ve paid out to State Farm only to be told we have policy coverage that if we actually use, or file a claim on, would be cancelled. We have now paid thousands to repair an interior wall water line failure, ourselves. Use a Broker, save your money upfront."
